Rainbow Brite Dolls

SMALL RAINBOW BRITE DOLLS:
There are eight small Rainbow Brite Dolls... plus an additional Murky Doll! Each 9-inch doll came with a matching Sprite that attaches with velcro to the doll's hand. These sprites are also known as "hand sprites" and measure 3.5-inches. The Murkey Doll came with a storm cloud and a bag of gloom. All of these dolls were sold in a box.

MEDIUM RAINBOW BRITE DOLLS:
Medium size dolls (16") were released by Emotions. Only four dolls were released - Rainbow Brite, Patty O'Green, Canary Yellow, and Red Butler. The Emotions dolls were not released in boxes, instead each doll came with a wrist hang tag. The tag on the doll reads, "Emotions - Division of Hallmark Cards".

LARGE RAINBOW BRITE DOLLS:
There are four Large Rainbow Brite Dolls: 1) Rainbow Brite, 2) Patty O'Green, 3) Shy Violet, and 4) Baby Brite. All of the dolls measure 18-inches except for Baby Brite who is only 15-inches! Each doll originally came in a box.

DRESS-UP DOLLS:
In 1985, there was a new line of Rainbow Brite Dress-Up Dolls. They were made by Mattel and measure 9-inches tall. Rainbow Brite and Tickled Pink were the only Dress-Up Dolls released in North America. The Moonglow Doll was only released in Germany. Although shown in a few ads, Stormy was never released anywhere... but creative fans have made one-of-kind handmade versions of Stormy Dolls. In addition, Starlite and Sunriser (Rainbow Brtie's Horse and Tickled Pink's Horse) were also separately released as the companions to the dolls. These two horses are flocked and have a hard body.

PETS & ANIMALS:
In addition to the hard-body Starlite and Sunriser, there is also a soft plush Starlite Doll. Rainbow Brite's horse is white with a multi-colored mane made out of yarn in every color of the rainbow!

There are also pets in Rainbow Land... Kitty Brite and Puppy Brite! Mattel made dolls of the fluffy white kitten and the colorful dog. Each animal originally came in a box as well. These boxes are the open "half-box" style of box (shown below) which are different from the traditional boxes that the Rainbow Brite Dolls came in (shown above).

VILLAINS:
Mattel also released toys of the baddies from Rainbow Brite... Murky Dismal and his fuzzy sidekick, Lurky! The Murky Dismal Doll came in a box with a storm cloud and a bag of gloom. Lurky certainly stands out with that huge nose and adorable red sneakers!
