The Makeover of Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake got a makeover! The well-loved (and sweet-smelling) doll of the 1980s received an updated look that appeals to today's modern girls. Strawberry Shortcake and her friends underwent an extreme makeover.

Gone are the old-fashioned dresses, matching bonnet and bloomers underpants... replaced with stylish trendy clothes consisting of not just one outfit buy many cute tops, pants and caps. After all, a girl can't have too many clothes in her wardrobe!

The corn-rolled red hair is now long flowing strawberry locks. The cheeks dotted with rouge and freckles is scrubbed clean for a fresh-faced look. Her green eyes now made more prominent with her less shy and more friendly outgoing smile.

Strawberry Shortcake now prefers fresh fruit to gumdrops, and chatting on her cellphone (although she still has time for her calico cat named Custard). Strawberry Shortcake has three good friends in Strawberryland, Orange Blossom, Angel Cake and the all-new character Ginger Snap.

It seems that Strawberry Shortcake is not the only 1980's child star to undergo such an extreme makeover. A large number of children's cartoon characters are being re-introduced to a younger generation (My Little Pony, for example). Both these new youngsters and their nostalgic parents (from that 80's generation) find a common ground that loves...

Strawberry Shortcake Stawberry Shortcake is back and is as sweet as ever! Basically, Strawberry is the leader of Strawberryland, wears a hat with strawberries on it - and lives in a strawberry shaped house. She even has red hair! Raspberry Torte Raspberry Tart was her original name - but now she's known as Raspberry Torte! Raspberry Torte loves sports and keeping fit - she even has her own gym! Angel Cake Angel Cake is a blonde girl who loves to decorate cakes. Always the artiste, she can be a bit ill-tempered and perfectionist in her actions. She lives in the Cakewalk neighborhood in Strawberryland with her pet lamb. Angel Cake's Pet Lamb: Vanilla Icing

Ginger Snap Ginger Snap is an inventor! She's actually both a very skilled inventor and baker, specializing in cookies. She has used her mechanical skills to perfect a huge gingerbread factory in her Cookie Corners neighborhood. She has a pet chipmunk! Ginger Snaps' Pet: Chocolate Chipmunk

Crepes Suzette Crepes Suzette is boutique chic! When not in Strawberryland, she runs a boutique in Pearis. Crepes Suzette has wavy pink hair and owns a poodle. Crepes Suzette's Pet: Eclair Poodle

Lemon Meringue Lemon Meringue runs a beauty salon from home, and is both stylish and glamorous. She lives on Lemon Lane and owns a skunk! She's good friends with Raspberry Torte. Lemon Meringue's Pet: Sourball Skunk

Tea Blossom Tea Blossom was known as Almond Tea in the original Strawberry Shortcake series. She is now known as Tea Blossom - but they are the same character. Frosty Puff Frosty Puff is an international friend from Niceland! She's a frozen dessert expert and makes delicious frozen treats for everyone in Strawberryland. Apricot Apricot used to be a baby in the classic Strawberry Shortcake, but now she's a full-grown and happy little girl who lives in Apricot Cottage!
