It is absolutely true! Plum Pudding started out life out as a boy character in the Strawberry Shortcake world. Unfortunately, the business of selling dolls is serious and complicated. There was no conspiracy against the male Plum Puddin', it just simply turns out that it's much harder to sell boy dolls than it is to sell girl dolls. So..poof! Plum Puddin' became a girl when "she" was finally released as a Party Pleaser doll in 1984.
